Fall Fruit Beers with Brittany

We’ve had a last minute change of plans and so we are going to taste out some fall fruit beers today! And, you are in luck because we have some great one’s in stock … come try some fruit beers from across the countries, different styles, and unique twists …fall fruit

The Beers:

  • Boulevard Brewing Co. Collaboration No. 7 – Oak Aged Lager: A three way collaboration between them, Arizona Wilderness Brewing Company, and Creature Comforts Brewing Company to brew a beer built on two-row pale malt, Sonoran White Wheat, honey malt and corn grits. This lager was fermented with the Ayinger lager strain and was briefly aged on Cuvee No. 5 Tank Staves, French oak staves that impart fruit, spice, toast and tannins. It has Riesling grape juice, peaches and lemon zest and is hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Lemondrop and Hallertau Blancs. It was bottle conditioned with champagne yeast and is a very cool interpretation of a fruited lager. 6% ABV, 16 IBU
  • Almanac Beer Co. Vanilla Cherry Dogpatch: Almanac’s Farm to Barrel Beers focus on the eons old tradition of aging beers in oak barrels. The yeasts slowly morph the beer from a traditional ale into something wild, creating a mild acidic bite as well as pulling oak and vanilla flavors from the barrel. After maturing, the barrels are blended back together—creating a vinous, delicate beer that captures a specific moment in time from our select Northern California Farms. Farm to Barrel Beers are alive in the bottle, and will continue to mature gracefully for up to 3 years. Almanac takes their base Dogpatch Sour and amplifies it! Using that base, they added a ridiculous amount of Bing, Rainier and Montmorency Cherries to each barrel for a juicy, intense cherry flavor and then they added whole Madagascar vanilla beans, building on oak’s natural vanilla flavor. The final blend creates a delicate balance of fruit and oak that keeps you coming back for more. 7.5% ABV
  • Almanac Beer Co. Pumpkin Pie de Brettaville: Their de Brettaville saisons expand upon the barrel aging tradition by highlighting the magical properties of wild brettanomyces yeast. This is autumn in a glass! Heirloom pumpkins from Bodega Bay, roasted whole to create a deep, sugary caramelization that is added to a bright brettanomyces-fermented beer, and then aged in oak casks with a selection of pumpkin pie spices; whole vanilla beans, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Finally, blended back together to create a cohesive whole with rich layers of oak, spice, and sweet pumpkin. Pair this complex sipper alongside autumn campfires, turning leaves and one extra slice of mom’s Thanksgiving pie. 7% ABV
  • Shipyard Smashed Blueberry: This beer is from Shipyard’s Pugsley’s Signature Series, which is named after the company’s master brewer, Alan Pugsley. This is a hybrid between a Porter and Scotch Ale with a wonderful aroma of blueberries. It is a dark brown color and features a great balance between fruity and malty sweetness. This is a rich and complex beer with notes of coffee and chocolate. Best enjoyed at cooler cellar temperatures with your favorite dessert. 9% ABV
