Come out tonight and taste some scrumptious beers with Katie from Devils Backbone! Now that fall weather has finally hit, we have a great assortment of seasonally appropriate beers for you to enjoy on the Tasting Bar … whether you are looking for something to crush while waiting on trick-or-treaters, something to sip while watching football, or just a nice beer to relax by the fire with … stop by from 5-7p to see what we have.

The Beers:

  • Black Lager: Schwarzbier (the previous name for this delicious beer) is a beer of Germanic origin and is a window into pre-modern brewing. Medieval brewers browned barley over open flames; today the characteristically subtle roasted flavor come from the finest toasted malts. Fermented with a lager yeast, this is great smooth darker beer for those that don’t like stouts and porters. 5.1% ABV, 22 IBUs
  • Cran-Gose: Based on the traditional Gose brewing style, they added heaps of pureed cranberry to brew our refreshing Cran-Gose. Light and Fruity, Cran-Gose is pink hued with a cranberry aroma and a naturally tart finish. Perfect for Halloween or Thanksgiving! 4% ABV, 4 IBUs
  • Striped Bass Pale Ale: Brewed to have while enjoying a great day on the water and to help clean up the water at the same time! It helps restore the Chesapeake Bay Watershed by contributing a portion of the proceeds of every case produced to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. This beer is golden in color with a light body and pleasant hop bouquet of traditional noble German hops blended with the intense citrus of American hop varieties. 5.2% ABV, 32 IBUs
  • Pumpkin Hunter: Named for the huntsman who roams the forests of Nelson County, Pumpkin Hunter brings Devils Backbone’s typical balance to a pumpkin ale. Brewmaster Jason Oliver designed the flavors to layer like liquid pumpkin pie. The malts impart a graham cracker pie crust character around a rich, subtly sweet pumpkin and spice body. It’s the ultimate comfort beer! 5.1% ABV, 14 IBUs
