- Los Dos Muscat + Chardonnay: Los Dos is Spanish for “both” or “the two” and the name reflects the fact that the wine is a blend of two complementary grape varieties. It is made by Bodegas Aragonesas, a group of notable winemakers in the Campo de Borja DO in the northeastern region of Aragón. From vineyards in the foothills of the Iberian Mountains, the grapes are grown in the hot, continental climate near the Ebro River, with aging in stainless steel. This project has proven to be very successful and has created a trio of enticing blends that possess an elegance beyond their value. This wine has tropical fruit aromas, good acidity, a touch of sweetness, and is a snappy wine from front to back. (75% Muscat, 25% Chardonnay)
- Cousiño-Macul Chardonnay: Founded in 1856, Cousiño-Macul is the only 19th century winery in Chile that remains in the hands of the original founding family. After seven generations and over 150 years, Cousiño-Macul’s mission rings clear – to produce world-class wines that are unmistakably Chilean, carrying the distinctive character of the Maipo Valley. This 100% Chardonnay was harvested in early march, fermented in stainless steel tanks at 55F for 30 days using two different varieties of yeast that allow the expression of different fruit characteristics. This wine did not undergo malolactic fermentation and is unoaked. This Chardonnay has a very delicate and elegant floral bouquet. Aromas of pineapple and apple open to a full-bodied and ripe palate that is bright, firm and rich with a long, smooth finish.
- Root:1 Heritage Red: Located between the Andes and the low coastal mountains of the Pacific Ocean, the warm, dry vineyards of Trinidad in the Maipo Valley, are world-renowned for producing outstanding red wines rich in color, with fresh, fruity aromas and pure varietal character. The granite and yellow clay slopes maintain ideal moisture for the vines during the ripening season, while the coastal winds provide soft cooling influences of the Pacific. This exquisite blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Carménère, 15% Syrah, & 7% Petit Verdot is co-fermented in stainless steel and aged for ten months in American and French oak. This deep ruby wine has blue and black fruit notes, pepper, and touches of toffee and chocolate. With silky tannins and good structure, it moves from fruit and spice on the palate to chocolate covered fruits on the finish.
- La Tremenda Monastrell: This is a single-vineyard wine made entirely from mature Monastrell vines that suffer in the harsh, arid landscape of the Alicante. The grapes are hand-harvested and produce a bright ruby-red colored wine that shows expressively in the glass of fresh cherries. On the palate, it is silky, lively, and long. It pairs wonderfully with a wide range of food, including pork chops, Kobe beef, and parmesan-crusted asparagus.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
