Oskar Blues started a craze … craft beer in a can! Since 2002, they have been putting quality craft beers in cans to keep them fresher longer by eliminated the damaging effects of light and ingressed oxygen. Plus, cans are infinitely recyclable and portable, allowing you to take them on your next adventure! Today, Oskar Blues has expanded far beyond their original Lyons, CO brewpub and has three breweries/taprooms: a larger original one in Colorado, a second one in the hills of the Pisgah National Forest in Brevard, NC, and their newest one in Austin, TX. Drop by today for a taste of the original craft beer in can, plus some of their other lineup …

The Beers:

  • Mama’s Little Yella Pils: This “is an uncompromising, small-batch version of the beer that made Pilsen, Czech Republic, famous. Unlike mass market‚ “pilsners‚” diluted with corn and rice, Mama’s is built with 100% pale malt, German specialty malts, and Saaz hops. While it’s rich with Czeched-out flavor, its gentle hopping (35 IBUs) and low ABV (just 5.3%) make it a luxurious but low-dose (by Oskar Blues standards) refresher.”
  • Beerito: “A light bodied, amber Mexican lager brewed with premium German and coloRADo sourced craft malts and featuring a crisp accent from noble hops. The mouth feel is incredibly smooth with flavors of walnut, toasted bread, plum, honey and cocoa – 4% ABV doesn’t always come with this kind of character.” 21 IBUs
  • Dale’s Pale Ale: Oskar Blues launched its canning operations in 2002, brewing and hand-canning Dale’s Pale Ale in their Lyons, CO brewpub. This is America’s first canned craft beer! With a nice hoppy nose and great pale malts, this critically acclaimed beer showed that craft beer did not have to be confined to bottles. 6.5% ABV, 65 IBUs
  • Pinner Throwback IPA: “At 4.9% ABV and 35 IBUs, this drinkable IPA uses several varieties of hops to target the ever-evolving flavor. With tropical fruits, citrus juices, pineapple and spice berry up front in the aroma and flavor, the biscuit & toasted bread at the back balance out all the hops and make a great finish to go on to your next can of PINNER. It’s the perfect beer for a little sip, sip, give.”
