Brothers making beer. That’s Chris and John Trogner of Troegs Independent Brewing, which as of last year, celebrated 20 years in business!

From a surprisingly early age, Chris and John Trogner assumed this would be their lot in life. A duo served well by their love of brainstorming and invention, teamwork between this pair has led to youthful mischief (a homemade cannon), practicality (a skateboard ramp), and what they’re now best known for—beer.

Come out tonight and try some of their year-round lineup, seasonals, and once-a-year drops!

The Beers:

  • First Cut Mango IPA: “Each spring, hop growers dust off their pruning shears and trim the first shoots, bolstering the bines for a rich growing season. First Cut – a mouthful of silky Simcoe and a touch of mango – is a nod to this ritual, without which the world would be a less hoppy place.” 6.2% ABV, 45 IBUs
  • Sunshine Pils: “Like the rising sun, Sunshine Pils delivers winter, spring, summer and fall. This deceptively complex pilsner is all about the tightrope walk of two-row barley, zesty Saaz hops and lager yeast. It’s a go-to when the sun is shining, and it makes us happy when skies are gray.” 4.5% ABV, 45 IBUs
  • Jovial: “Originally brewed for Chris’ wedding, we decided Jovial was just too good a union of dark stone fruit character and evocative notes of toffee, chocolate and molasses to make only once. You may kiss the beer.” 7% ABV, 13 IBUs
  • Nugget Nectar: “It’s impossible to forget your first squeeze. Once a year, as the newest humulus lupulus harvest arrives at Tröegs, we blend these super-fresh hops into an Imperial Amber Ale. Excessively dry-hopped, Nugget Nectar is an explosion of pine, resin and mango.” 7.5% ABV, 93 IBUs
